CARTA announces impending route changes for Mt. Pleasant area | Transportation

MOUNT PLEASANT (WCSC) - The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), together with the Town of Mount Pleasant, announced on Wednesday that route changes are coming to the area.
The route changes will officially begin on Sunday, April 17 and will represent the introduction of the new routes #401 and #402 and improved route #40 buses to the Mount Pleasant area.
Route #401 will be a new fixed-route service operating from 7:07 a.m. until 8:07 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8:07 a.m. to 8:07pm Saturdays.
The Route 401 East Cooper Connector will serve Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park, Mount Pleasant Town Hall, Coleman Boulevard, Bowman Road/Senior Center, East Cooper Hospital, Central Mount Pleasant (Towne Center), Six Mile Community, and Long Point Road (Snowden). Service will be hourly Monday through Saturday.
Route #402 Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island Flex will be a FLEX zone serving parts of Mount Pleasant and the beaches of Isle of Palms and Sullivan’s Island from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. six days a week.
Route #40 Mount Pleasant will be adjusted to serve Wando High School and Mount Pleasant Hospital, service will be extended slightly from Mount Pleasant, service will remain hourly Monday through Saturday and every other hour on Sunday.
